Abstract
This research discusses matters in regards to the Islamic rulings and ethics for women during performing sports. It focuses on the ethics of women’s sport by following the Islamic laws, and sports that allowed and prohibited in Islam. Basically, these rulings and guidelines are for none other reason but for the benefits of the betterment of the ummah, as well as keeping women in the Islamic guidelines when doing sports, for examples covering of ‘aurah, wearing the proper attire and so on. Then, Islam forbids the free mixing of the two genders, women should know that some sports that do allow both genders are prohibited. This research discusses certain contemporary issues regarding the rulings of women’s sport that related with allowed and prohibited things. Therefore, this research is made based on the holy Qur’an and as-Sunnah, opinions from fuqahaa as well as fatwas of the contemporary Islamic scholars with their proofs in supporting for their opinions. Finally, may Allah bless the work and the representing of the research.
