dc.description.abstract | Yazid bin al-Qaqaa al-Makhzumi al-Madani or known as Abu Jaafar was the eighth of the ten imams of “Qiraat Mutawatirah”. Just as there is a well-known mushaf written in Hafs narration that are widely spread among Muslim community in this era, there are also mushafs written with other narrations such as mushaf that written in Abu Jaafar's qiraat. There are still many among the Muslim community, especially in Brunei Darussalam, who
still do not know the existence of mushafs with Abu Jaafar's qiraat or mushaf with other qiraats because in this country qiraat mushafs are not distributed except for the mushaf with Hafs narration. However, with the advancement of technology in this era, students in the field of Qiraat knowledge can obtain copies of the qiraat mushafs in digital form. Therefore, the researcher wants to give an explanation about one of the mushafs with one of the mutawatir narrations, which are the mushafs written in the qiraat of Abu Jaafar, but the main focus of this study is to study the writing patterns (rasm) and the quranic punctuation marks and symbols (dhabt) used in the mushafs. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide exposure to the community about the qiraat mushaf of Abu Jaafar. Basically, this study uses a comparative descriptive approach. Where the researcher mentions the background of Imam Abu Jaafar and his methodology in reading the Quran, examines the writing method of mushafs written in Abu Jaafar's qiraat from the perspective of rasm and dhabt, and compares the rasm and dhabat methods used in those mushafs, then examine the
extent to which the mushafs of Abu Jaafar's qiraat are compatible with Rasm Uthmani and its advantages to facilitate the reader. Among the important findings of the study is that there are four differences in the writing patterns or rasm between the qiraat mushaf of Abu Jaafar published in 2011 under the supervision of Wizarah al-Awqaf wa al-Syu’un wa alMuqaddasat al-Islamiyyah, Jordan, and the mushafs of al-Silsilah al-Furatiyah published in 2022, and most of the differences are still compatible with Rasm Uthmani's writing method, and as for the punctuation marks and symbols or dhabt used in qiraat mushaf of Abu Jaafar, especially the mushaf that published in 2022, it contains new punctuation marks and symbols that are not found or used in previous mushafs, and the new marks and symbols created is to make it easier for the reader. | en_US |
