Abstract

This thesis aims to identify the concept of Uruf among the Usuliyin and its jurisprudential applications. The method used by the researcher is descriptive analytical and applied method. This thesis contains an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. The introduction is about research basics. Chapter one is about the introduction of Uruf and differences of culture and the thoughts of Islamic scholars among the Usuliyin. Chapter two is about the understanding of Uruf in accordance with the four Major Islamic mazhab. Chapter three is about importance of Uruf , the credible sources and the terms and condition with its correlation. Chapter four consists of the sub sections and the normal practices among the Islamic scholars. Then the study concluded by mentioning the most effective outcome. Also, the researcher explained in this thesis about the differences in the authenticity of Uruf according to the four famous mazhab which are Mazhab Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali.
