Zakat on jewelleries is one of the ‘zakat harta’ that is obligatory for Muslims. This obligation is set based on the fatwa of states and it is not unified between one state and another. Many in the Muslim community in Brunei have the perception that jewelry is not subject to zakat as much as it is owned provided it is worn as women's jewelry. However, many still do not know about this zakat obligation. This study aims to gain an understanding of Muslim women in Brunei Darussalam on the obligation of zakat on jewelry. This study also aims to find out the practice of wearing jewelry based on different socio-economic levels of respondents. Furthermore, this study also aims to analyze the extent of the respondents' awareness of the obligation of jewelry zakat. The main method used in this study is the survey method. A total of 100 survey forms were distributed to the respondents. The initial findings of this study are expected to help in increasing the awareness of Muslim women in Brunei on the obligation of zakat. This study also contains several approaches and recommendations to ensure that zakat institutions can be strengthened, and zakat funds can be increased.en_US
