dc.description.abstract | In a rapidly growing world, employers are not only concerned with technical skills but also with soft skills in order to adapt and equip themselves with all types of jobs and at the same time to have variety of skills. In that regard, this study was conducted to find out the teaching and learning (T&L) ecosystem in Islamic HEIs of Brunei Darussalam, to study the relationship and its impact on student marketability. The study sample consists of 323 Islamic IPT graduates who have completed their studies from 2011 to 2019. The study conducted is quantitative in the form of a survey to answer each research question. The research instrument used is a set of questionnaires containing personal information and items of the R & D ecosystem as well as elements of marketability skills. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results of the study show that the R & D ecosystem in Islamic HEIs, Brunei Darussalam is at a high level with an overall mean value of 3.59 where the academic aspect is 3.89 with a standard deviation of 0.68 while for non-academic is 3.29 with a standard deviation of 0.93. To see the relationship of the R & D ecosystem with student marketability, spearman rho test has been used and the results show that there is a significant relationship between the academic R&D ecosystem of Islamic HEIs with the marketability of students at a moderate level where r = 0.406 *, p <.05. While the nonacademic R&D ecosystem of Islamic HEIs with student marketability at a *lower level which r = 0.243 *, p <.05. Overall, there is indeed a good R & D ecosystem in Islamic HEIs based on the perception of graduates, especially the academic aspect has succeeded in affecting the marketability of students, but not for non-academic aspects. This has proven that every student needs to focus on *having soft skills so they can compete in the market. | en_US |
