Abstract

This research studies the distortion of Islamic da'wah and explains factors that contribute to the occurrence of this false propaganda. Focusing on their movement through the internet, with regards to its widely-used and easy-to-access characteristic, the research studies one of the websites (wikiislam), in purpose to extract their mischievous tactics in misrepresenting Islam. This research also includes some of the Muslim scholars' efforts in combating the crimes through debates, critics, warnings, and so on. Also, this research contents the role of each of us, in fighting this matter. The purpose of this research is to explain the pure meaning of da'wah, whilst stressing out the importance of one of its tools (internet), in spreading the teaching of Islam, since it has been used by the Muslim preachers. This achievement, at the same time, has been taken advantage of, by the anti-Islamists to twist out the real preaching, hiding under the name of Islam. The methodology of this research is by using several respective books, in collecting concrete information, and also the method of studying and investigating the website, by carrying out some of their doubting points is contrary to Islam, most of them used Quranic verses and the Prophet's sayings as proofs, along with conclusion to take down their false ideas. The outcome of this research shows that their movement is still at large and expand. Obligatory to us as Muslims, to strengthen the brotherhood of Islam, and Islam theology, gaining endless knowledge both religious and scientific. and aiming to gain mass media profession to contribute in presenting Islam to worldwide.
