Abstract

The purpose of the thesis is to accumulate information about the principles, rules and regulations for translation of meaning of Holy Quran in Nepali Language. The translation of the Holy Quran deems necessary to the Non Arab Muslim Scholars. Many scholars did the translation of Holy Quran, yet some of them did the translation based on their mere understanding. Some of them found doing this noble work according to their own manner without following the principles, rules and regulations and without referring books of reliable Tafsir. Some of them even committed mistakes in this noble work. So, the researcher attempted to accumulate principles, rules and regulations of translation of the Holy Quran, to become guideline for researchers, translators and students of Universities in general and for the Translators of Holy Quran in particular. The researcher followed the inductive method by accumulation of information regarding the topic. He also followed the analytical method by studying the books to reach to necessary results as to fulfill the main purpose of this topic. The main achievements are accumulation of information about the Translation of the Holy Quran, its’ importance, principles, rules and regulation, challenges in this work and solutions. Among the targets of the thesis are to guide the researchers and translators of Quran regarding principles, rules and regulations of the translation of the Holy Quran in all languages in general and in Nepali language in particular.
