This scientific research aims to provide knowledge about the methods of ‘the permissibility of possessing a prohibited degree on the basis of necessity’ which is one of the essential pillars in Islamic Sharia. There are many fatwas that has been compiled in conducting these methods. To conclude, the needs of necessity must be done in a situation which it is likely to cause harm, not out of proportion and capable of knowing that there is no other way to saving one life except in taking what is either wrong or contrary to Islamic law. Also it should provide that the act may not cause any harm after undertaken the action. Thus we must thoroughly analyze these methods so that it constitutes the Darul Ifta of Brunei Darussalam as the platform in practicability and understanding of Islam, as the form these methods as a guide for putting the Muslims at ease and showing that Islam is a religion of tolerance. Therefore this shows one of the uniqueness of Islamic Sharia as well as its hukm Fiqh which is judged according to the situation and hardship suffered thereby achieving peace and harmony amongst the Muslims.en_US
