Abstract
This research aims at analyze and evaluate the Rhetoric textbook ( البلاغة الواضحة ) for teaching the Rhetoric subject in Brunei Darussalam’s Arabic Secondary High Schools. The researcher has followed the analytical evaluative approach to reach the objectives of this research; to study the compatibility of Rhetoric school textbook ( البلاغة الواضحة ) used in Arabic schools in accordance with the scientific standards for school textbook and, to study the validity of this book in relation to the level of the students and their goals and preferences in learning. The researcher has obtained the relevant data through questionnaires provided to learners and teachers of Rhetoric subjects. This research report includes three chapters in which the researcher reviews Rhetoric Knowledge in Chapter One. Then in Chapter Two, the researcher elaborates on Analysis: its definition, its characteristics and its steps, and also analyzing al-Balaghah al-Wadihah book. Chapter Three provides the details of the survey conducted. The research concludes with the findings, recommendations, references and appendices. The study has found that the Rhetoric textbook ( البلاغة الواضحة ) used in Arabic schools in Brunei Darussalam does not fit entirely be a textbook, pertaining to its level of toughness and unsuitability for teaching non-Arabic-speaking students.
