Abstract

This study convey a very essential topic from Islamic jurisprudence and personal and also family topics that are related to ‘iddah and how far it recounts with nowadays life. This study aims to provide knowledge to women of their rights during the period time of ‘iddah. This study starts with the definition of ‘iddah and then explanation of how many of the Muslim code of religious law and testaments regarding it and also the wisdom of it. Then this study is discussing the rules about ‘iddah and how far does Islam concerning the sanctity of muslim women and the commitment with ‘iddah where it explains about types of ‘iddah (quru’, months and pregnancy) and every rules that are related with ‘iddah of divorce raj’ie and ba’in bainunah sughra and kubra and also the explanation about it’s circumstances and the effect of it’s involvement on it. Also, this study covers the rules that are related to women during ‘iddah that are being widows and includes the women in ‘iddah before and after occurrence of the influx and also covers the issues of women during ‘iddah that need to go out from home, move from the house that they have been living at during their marriage, also to go for vacation and also to perform pilgrimage. It also covers various rules such as to whom the alimony should be given, make a proposal of marriage directly or in a way of declaration and also about the heritage and custody of women in ‘iddah. Besides, the rights of breastfeeding and ancestry of the child that has been in her womb during her ‘iddah and also stating the allocation of rights of women in ‘iddah from the law of Brunei.
