منهج الإمام الشافعي في نقد السنة

Abstract

This research aims to recognize the methodology of Imam Shafi‘i in scrutinizing the Sunnah through its sanad and matan. The researcher tried through this research to highlight the role of Imam Muhammad bin Idris al shafi’i in scrutinizing the Sunnah depending on the deductive and inductive as well as the analytical descriptive approaches through inducting Imam shafi’i s compilations and the compilations related to scrutinizing the Sunnah and deducting his methodology in scrutinizing the Sunnah, and taking evidences and examples and analyzing them in order to find out the principles from them, and following up the examples and then to describe his critical approach that the study concluded. Among the most important result that the researcher concluded throughout this research is that imam shafi,i was widely famous in jurisprudence between the west and the west in the way that it was imagined by some that he was concerned with shariah provisions or deriving the provisions from the prophetic hadith only, but the reality is otherwise, as he was expert among the scholars who criticized the sanad of hadith and its matan, theoretically and practically by setting conditions and regulations of accepting it, as he considered as the first scholar to set these conditions
