Abstract
This research aims to study the poetic evidences in the rhetoric of the lower secondary Arabic schools in Brunei Darussalam in response to complaints from students and some teachers about the difficulties they face in understanding them: because they are not native speakers of the Arabic language. The nature of the subject required that the research be divide into an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. The introduction included the basics of research. The first chapters deals with five questions about the rhetoric and its teaching in Brunei Darussalam, the poetic evidences and their importance, the explanations of the scholars, the book 'the clear rhetoric' (البلاغة الواضحة) and its two authors, and concluded by mentioning the detail of the curriculum. The second chapter consists of five topics which studies the poetic evidences of the curriculum of the tenth and eleventh year which selected from the science of semantics (علم المعاني). The third chapter consists of two sections which studies the poetic evidences of the curriculum of the the ninth year selected from the science of Badi' (علم البديع). Then came the conclusion that included the summary of the research, and its results, and the researher's recommendations. The researcher addressed 70 poetic evidences by authenticating them from their accredited sources, as well as mentioning the occasion of the poems and explanations of the meaning of the vocabulary, and the whole text of the evidences by converting them from the poetic style to the prose style, and then identified the place of the witness and analyzed the rhetorically. In this way, the researcher produced these evidences in a form that makes it easy for students to understand what is meant by it. Finally, the researcher hopes that this study is useful for students and teachers, and help solve the problems the face.
