Abstract

This study was conducted to highlight the efforts of Imam al-Shafi‘i in calling to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala and its impact in the Islamic world. The calling to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala is made obligatory upon His messengers (peace be upon them), it is then continued by the Islamic scholars because they are the successors of Islam. This study will be able to answer the research questions such as the definition of the calling to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala as well as Imam al-Shafi‘i’s methodology applied in the calling to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala. The aim of this study is to highlight his remarkable efforts and contributions towards the calling to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala and its impact towards the Islamic world. The research methodology used is qualitative methodology, literature reviews by referring to al-Quran and al-Hadith and collecting related information via academic references in Islamic propagation. Analytical methodology is also applied in this study to highlight Imam al-Shafi‘i’s methodology in the calling to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala. Meanwhile Imam al-Shafi‘i uses Islamic jurisprudence and historical analysis to derive rulings related. Among the findings of this study, Imam al-Shafi‘i has devoted remarkable efforts towards the calling to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala. He has also put great efforts in teaching Islam to the society, especially Islamic jurisprudence. His exemplary persistence and enthusiasm, as well as his methdologies in the calling to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala shall be followed and be implemented by all preachers in the recent world.
