الرُواة الذين قال فيهم ابن حجر "ليّن" أو "فيه ليْن" في كتابه "تقريب التهذيب" وخرّج لهم البخاري خارج كتابه "الجامع الصحيح" دراسة تحليلية
Abstract
This research concerns the term “Layyin al-Ḥadīth”, which is one of the terms used by Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar in his book Taqrīb al-Tahdhīb. In this research, the researcher hopes to study what Ibn Ḥajar had meant by this term, applying the research to all narrators described as “Layyin al-Ḥadīth”, among the narrators mentioned by Imām al-Bukhārī in his writing, apart from al-Jāmiʻ al-Ṣaḥīḥ, of which the total number is 27 narrators. The researcher then researches into the narration of every narrator in search of their narrations in the writings of Imām al-Bukhārī, and to look at the mutābaʻāt (supporters), and the ʻillat (defects) so as to correct them, if any. The researcher has employed the istiqrā’(inductive) methodology to collate the data that are related to the narrators and the opinions of the jarḥ wa taʻdīl scholars on them. The researcher then uses the naqdī (critical) methodology to examine these opinions and adopt the opinions that are rājiḥ as the conclusion. Finally, the researcher has employed the waṣfī (descriptive) and taḥlīlī (analysis) methodologies to explain their narrations. The result of this research reveals that the term Layyin al-Ḥadīth had been used by earlier scholars such as Imām Aḥmad, Imām al-Bukhārī, Imām al-Dāruquṭnī and others. It is not a new terminology introduced by Ibn Ḥajar. Ibn Ḥajar had merely stipulated conditions in categorising a narrator as Layyin al-Ḥadīth, i.e.: the narration of few aḥadīth, no negative opinion of them among the ʻulamā’ and no mutābaʻāt. This research has also discovered that Imām al-Bukhārī did not specify any ṣaḥīḥ conditions in his books, apart from al-Jāmiʻ al-Ṣaḥīḥ.
