قصة اليتيم للمنفلوطي وقصة السوق الليلي لحمكا دراسة تحليلية فنية مقارنة
Abstract
No denial that Arabic Literature is remarkably superior and distinct, due to the large emergence of great writers who have left a lot of magnificent literary books; and so does the Malay Literature which has evolved rapidly. The Arabic influence on the Malay Literature has occurred since ancient times until now, and many Malay writers have been influenced by Arab writers. Therefore, the researcher comes up with her dissertation topic: ''Short Story titled ‘al-Yatim’ by al-Manfaluthi and ‘Pasar Malam’ by Hamka: An Analytical, Esthetic and Comparative study.'' This research aims to analyze two short stories namely ‘al-Yatim’ and ‘Pasar Malam’, to disclose the influence of ‘Al-Yatim’ on ‘Pasar Malam’ and to illustrate the similarities and differences between them, and to indicate their positions in Modern Islamic Literature. The researcher has used three methodologies; analytical, esthetic and comparative methods. This dissertation contains description of the impact of the Arabic Literature on the Malay Literature at the beginning of the study and there are seven chapters. The first chapter focuses on the personal background of al-Manfaluthi and Hamka. The second discusses was how Hamka is affected by al-Manfaluthi. The third analyses the stories. The fourth chapter highlights about the esthetic study. The fifth is a comparison of the two stories in terms of similarities and differences. The sixth discloses the impact of ‘al-Yatim’ on ‘Pasar Malam’. The seventh comprises of the reviews for both stories, and finally the study ends with the results and recommendations. The most important finding is that ‘Pasar Malam’ is more influenced by ‘al-Yatim’ than the Hamka’s novel titled “Di Bawah Lindungan Ka’bah”; because of a lot of similarities and differences between them. However, that does not indicate that Hamka is a plagiarist, but he is heavily influenced by al-Manfaluthi. This dissertation is a new study that has never been studied before. It also proves the truth of Dr Arif Karkhi AbuKhudairi’s research findings, about the effect of Arabic Literature on Malay literature, from the impact of al-Manfaluthi on the origin of the short story in the Modern Indonesian Literature.
