Abstract

The problem of this study is about people who do not understand the the legal syar'ie clothing in Islam, especially for men, which they think that covering the aurah are just for women, for example; they do not wear long pants when attending functions, to show their thighs. In addition, many women in Brunei are wearing thin and tight clothes exposing their body and this is due to the influence of friends or the mass media. This study aims to demonstrate the importance of the concept of aurah and dress and ornaments. And describes the opinions of Muslim scholars in this field and explain the difference between what is permissible and prohibited in the dressing. Followed by an explanation of the risk of exposing aurah. The methodology of this study was produced by students with inductive methods, descriptive analyzes and field studies. The inductive method is handled by extrapolating the references and sources on the subject. It also depends on the descriptive and analytical methods in relation to the opinion of Muslim jurists and scholars concerned with the veil and clothing Syarie’. Followed by field research methods to study in the community Brunei. At the end of the academic work, the student has achieved several conclusion which are: the conditions in the dressing one of which is to cover the whole, can not jeweled, wearing loose and not tight, can not wear perfume, can not wear clothes that resemble men or otherwise, clothing which resemble infidels and should not be boastful in dress. It was concluded that the legal syar'ie clothing in Islam is very useful to individuals and communities, but its implementation might not be so easy.
