Abstract
This thesis examines Islamic law related to the killing of women and the obligation of paying diyat (blood money), focusing on the differing views of the four major Islamic schools of thought: Imam Hanafi, Imam Maliki, Imam Shafi'i, and Imam Hanbali. Using a qualitative approach, this study analyzes classical and contemporary literature, as well as the implementation of diyat law in modern Muslim countries. The research findings show significant variations in legal interpretations among the schools and the challenges of adapting diyat law to modern legal systems. The thesis also offers policy recommendations to enhance justice and equality in the enforcement of laws related to the killing of women and the payment of diyat.
